Course 3: Fortigate Firewall Training (2-3 Months)

1. FortiGate Essentials (NSE 1–2)

• Duration: Self-paced
• Focus: Introduction to Fortinet products and basic network security concepts.

2. FortiGate Security (NSE 3)

• Duration: 3 days (Instructor-led)
• Focus: Configuring FortiGate devices, firewall policies, user authentication, SSL VPN, and security profiles like IPS, antivirus, and web filtering.
• Objective: Provide a solid understanding of implementing basic network security.
• Prerequisites: Knowledge of network protocols and basic firewall concepts.

3. FortiGate Infrastructure (NSE 4)

• Duration: 2 days (Instructor-led)
• Focus: Advanced FortiGate networking and security features, including routing, redundant infrastructure, virtual domains (VDOMs), Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA), SSL VPN, site-to-site IPsec VPN, Single Sign-On (SSO), and diagnostics.
• Objective: Equip professionals with the skills to design and administer complex network infrastructures using FortiGate devices.
• Prerequisites: Understanding of OSI layers, firewall concepts in an IPv4 network, and FortiGate fundamentals.

4. FortiGate Administrator (NSE 4)

• Duration: 4 days (Instructor-led)
• Focus: Combines FortiGate Security and FortiGate Infrastructure courses, providing comprehensive training on deploying, managing, and troubleshooting FortiGate devices.
• Objective: Prepare professionals for the NSE 4 certification exam.

5. FortiGate Operator (NSE 3)

Objective: Provide foundational skills for operating FortiGate devices.

Duration: Self-paced

Focus: Configuring common and high-level features on FortiGate devices, connecting remote users securely using VPNs, restricting access to network resources, monitoring indicators and logs, and performing basic system maintenance.
